Dear New Students, Please follow the guidelines below if you are interested in auditioning for IYCA. Thank you.

Step One:          
Read the “Audition Requirements” page.

Step Two:
Sign up for an audition time by emailing “iycamusic@gmail.com.”

Step Six:
Arrive 15-20 minutes before your audition time (this is Generally a good rule to follow) to allow ample time to Warmup. There will be 2 signs for you so you’ll know where to go. 1 sign is for WARMUP and the other is AUDITION ROOM.

Questions & Answers about Auditions.
Q. Do I need to bring a copy of my music for the audition?
A. No, it won’t be necessary.

Q. Do I need to have my scales and pieces memorized?
A. No. You may use music.

Q. When are we notified of our results?
A. We will tell you immediately after your audition and give you a letter with information on there for the next rehearsal. Everything related to the orchestra is posted online.

Q. What happens if I am late to my audition?
A. We will squeeze you in between auditions as best as we can. If you are running really late from a previous engagement, you can call the IYCA office number at (949)338-1535 and we can always reschedule you.

Q. Can new members audition anytime during the school year?
A. Yes. We’ll be happy to hear auditions anytime during the school year. We will do our best to seat you accordingly and provide you ample solo opportunitie as well.

Q. Do members who join later in the year pay the same tuition?
A. The tuition for those who join after Feb 2009 is $220. We do not pro-rate your tuition based on when you join.

Q. Does your tuition include extra rehearsals before you go on tour?
A. Yes.

Q. Does your tuition include siblings?
A. Yes. Per family. If you have 2 sisters and you are also joining, it is $450 for the entire family, not each person.

Q. When is tuition due?
A. At the first rehearsal. Hand it to either our Personnel Manager or Conductor.

Q. Are there refunds if we quit?
A. No. Sorry, but we will not refund musicians if they choose to quit IYCA.
