
Peter P. Fournier, former conductor of the University of California, Irvine Wind Ensemble, retired from full time teaching in 2003. He is associate conductor of the Irvine Youth Symphony, founded in 1991, that has performed throughout Europe, China, Australia and Carnegie Hall.
He completed his Masters Degree in trombone performance with Robert Marsteller at the University of Southern California, and has conducted BonesWest for the past three years. Mr. Fournier serves as an adjudicator and clinician at international music festivals with World Projects International and is the Artistic Director of the New York Orchestra Festival held in Carnegie Hall.
Currently Mr. Fournier is serving on the Emeritus Faculty for the South Orange County College District and conducts both the Laguna Community Concert Band and the OC Wind Ensemble. In 2003 he was appointed Artistic Director of the Wind Band & Orchestra Festival in Carnegie Hall, New York. As the Music Director of BonesWest, a 50 member trombone ensemble that performs Big Band jazz arrangements, he has conducted and performed in Carnegie Hall. As co-founder and director of the Four Seasons Youth Symphony, he has also served as an adjudicator, clinician and conductor in the Sydney Opera House, the Beijing Children's Palace in China and the Budapest School of Music in Hungary.
